Chanderkhani Pass Malana Trek

  • Altitude: – 3660 Meters (12007 Feet)
  • Duration: – 7 days & 6 nights (Manali to Manali)

Meal plan: – All three meals during the trek. M.A.P basis during hotel stay (breakfast and dinner). Accommodation: – Day 1 and Day 6 hotel. During the trek twin sharing tents.

Proposed Itinerary

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL AT MANALI CHECK INTO THE HOTEL (M.A.P BASIS).

On arrival at Manali, you will be received at the City Bus Stand and transported to the hotel. Freshen up and breakfast. After a good rest will leave for Manali for sightseeing/necessary shopping for trek/strolling in the market/ acclimatization, return to hotel pack up for the next day. There will be short briefing about the trek. Dinner and retire for the night. Breakfast and dinner is on board. Lunch is personal.

Day 2 – NAGGAR TO RUMSU TO TANKI. (2200 METER).
Today we start of the day with breakfast at hotel and drive to Naggar village; from here we shall start our day and trek to a small hamlet in the forest adjoining the village of Rumsu. it shall be trek for around 3 to 4 hrs to acclimatize ourselves for the altitude rise we shall face in the coming days. Camp overnight. (All three meals)

DAY 3 – RUMSU TANKI TO GHONKARADI (3100 METER).
We start our trek from Tanki ascending steadily through the deodar forest. This is located at a height of 3100 metres above the sea level. Walking again through the forest amidst Rhododendron shrubs and Bhojpatra trees we reach the village Ghonkardi campsite ( metres) (4 hrs.)

DAY 4 – GHONKARDI TO CHAKLANI (3350 METER).
Next day after early BF, we trek towards the Chanderkhani Base Camp (Chaklani). A gradual uphill walk through the conifer and alpine meadows offering a magnificent view of the Pirpanjal range with mountains rising above 6000 meters. It is a gorgeous sight. After walking for 4 km, we hit a steady ascent to reach Chiklani base camp. (5-6 hrs)

DAY 5 – CHAKLANI TO CHANDERKHANI PASS TO NAGRUNI. (3400 METER).
After breakfast we start our trek from Chiklani towards Chanderkhani Pass. We ascend a great height to reach Dhalakda Pathar. From here, it is a steady uphill on the Chanderkhani Pass ridge to reach the Pass. Chanderkhani pass is located at 3660 metres above the sea level. At the pass after soaking in the magnificent views of Pir Panjal in the north, Bara Bhangal in the west and Parvati in the east, the climb down to Nagruni Thach becomes steeper. We reach the camping ground at Nagruni Thach (at a height of 2800 metres) after 6-7 hrs trek and retire for the night, with the brilliant night sky for company.

DAY 6 – NAGRUNI TO BISKIRI THACH TO MALANA VILLAGE TO MANALI
Today after breakfast we all descend the slope to reach next camp near the Malana river. This trail leads to Malana village, but we will camp at Biskiri Thach. This is a steep down-hill trek from 2800 to 2600 metres. Trek among tall coniferous trees to reach Malana village to see one of the oldest civilizations in the world. The villagers consider themselves to be the direct descendants of Greek Emperor Alexander. They have their own Govt and constitution. Then from there, drive to Manali and check into our hotel. (7 to 8 hrs) – Time includes the trek and drive from Malana to Manali).

DAY 7 – DEPARTURE CHECK OUT FROM HOTEL BY 12 PM.
After breakfast and checkout at 12 PM from the hotel, you will be dropped at the mall road. End Of services. Buses to Delhi are at around 4.00pm.

NOTE: Itinerary is subject to change without notice due to weather conditions, snow fall and accumulation on the trek at higher camps and other natural calamities & circumstances considering the safety of the participants.
